The Lonesome Billies

The Lonesome Billies shoot from the hip with their own take on a classic outlaw country sound that has been described as "boot stomping, gator hootin, whiskey swilling music". Four men from the badlands of Hazel Dell who have stuck together from their early days and have developed a bond akin to brotherhood, all while playing unapologetic dark and dusty honky tonk music. Like the outlaw singers and guitar pickers who have come before, these fellas tell stories, playinga mixture of songs both capable of starting a whiskey-fed bar fight or a Texas two step.

Forming in early 2010, The Billies quickly began defining the dark world their

characters came from.. A desolate gunslinger running from the law. A griseled

mountain man down from the hills and looking for a good time. A man at the endof the road in a brokedown pickup truck with nothing but a bottle of booze. They began simultaneously pulling from personal experiences, the imagery of old spaghetti western films, and the sounds of the 70’s outlaw country music

The Lonesome Billies Headline The Doug Fir 7-24-2014

Howdy all,

The Lonesome Billies are pleased and excited to be playing the Doug Fir once again, Thursday, July 24th. This show has us chomping at the bit as this will be our first show as headliners at one of Portland's most heralded music venues. We are fresh off of completing our first full length album 'It's Good To Be Lonesome' (to be released in early 2015) and can't wait stomp our boots with everyone.

Joining us will be our brothers from the north lands of Seattle, Country Lips; a rag tag 8 piece that parties hard and promises to light up the room with tunes reminiscent of Dwight Yoakam and Gram Parsons drunk on tequila in a Mexican cantina. They will be returning to Seattle to play the Capitol Hill Block Party on Saturday, July 26th.

The party will begin when Jaime Wyatt & The Bang Bangs take the stage at 9pm. The up-and-coming star who is based in, L.A. California, has been referred to as the female Tom Petty and is far easier on the eyes. Sorry Tom. They'll be stopping in Portland on their way to Bend, OR.  and on through to San Francisco.

Ticktes are available at the box office and through the link below:

See you, Thursday, Billies!

'It's Good To Be Lonesome' To Debut Early 2015

Howdy everyone,

The Lonesome Billies, have worked tirelessly to bring our first full length album 'It's Good To Be Lonesome' out of the dark and into the light of day. Many a show have been played since its inception and our blood, sweat and tears have filled our hearts to the brim. We have laughed, stomped our boots and been at each others throats along the way but we Lonesome Billies wouldn't have it any different.

Recorded at Cloud City Sound by Brandon Eggleston (Co-producer along side the Billies own Jeff Gaither), mixed by Brandon Eggleston and mastered by Timothy Stollenwerk, 'It's Good To Be Lonesome' carries with it many of the songs you have so graciously sang along to throughout the course of our existence and we can't wait for you to hear the finished product while you're holed up in your living rooms, sipping on a whiskey neat or a pint of beer. Unlike our EP 'Useless Bay,' 'It's Good To Be Lonesome' will be pressed to vinyl to harness the sounds and messages we wish to convey, an ode to the greats that we turn to for inspiration. Of course, there will be digi downloads and all the new-age glitz as well.

Set to release in early 2015, 'It's Good To Be Lonesome' will be preceded by a split 7" that features music from the forthcoming full length record. We are excited about these releases and look forward to many more. Thanks for all of your support, Billies. We truly appreciate it. Right On!
